For software & AI agents

Order fasteners from your code — or your AI.

Every fastener. Any quantity. Right now. One catalog and one price list — for people, software and AI agents.

Three ways to order

  • People

    The website

    Type it, say it, or snap a picture. Add to basket.

    Open the website
  • Software

    The REST API

    Search, quote and order with simple JSON. Plug it into your ERP or shop.

  • AI agents

    The MCP server

    Claude and other agents can find and order parts for you — within your budget.

MCP server

Let an AI agent do the shopping

Connect Claude or any MCP-compatible agent. It can search, check prices and order — but never spend more than you allow.

  1. 1. Add the server

    In Claude Code, run:

    Terminal
    claude mcp add --transport http fastener-now https://fastener.now/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer fn_test_workshop"

    Or paste this into any MCP client’s settings:

    mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "fastener-now": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://fastener.now/api/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer fn_test_workshop"
          }
        }
      }
    }
  2. 2. Just ask

    “Order 200 stainless M6 hex bolts, 30 mm, with nuts. Keep it under $150.”

  3. 3. Stay in control

    The agent must say how much you approved. Anything over it comes back as “needs approval” instead of shipping, and it can only ship to your approved addresses.

Tools your agent gets

  • search_fastenersTurns “I need 100 zinc 1/4-20 bolts” into SKUs, each labelled exact, likely or alternative
  • get_productLooks up one part's details, price breaks and availability
  • quotePrices exact quantities before buying — with a code or the account's credit if asked
  • place_orderOrders within the amount you approved (checked after discounts)
  • list_offersLists public deals and their terms, so agents never invent codes
  • check_couponChecks a code against the parts, with the exact saving
  • get_rewardsReads the account's own credit and referral link
  • get_orderReads one of the account's orders, with its coupon and credit status

How it works for business

Simple for everyone

  • Any quantity

    From 1 piece to a million, exactly the number you need. Volume prices switch on by themselves.

  • One price list

    Same prices, deals, matches and totals on the website, the API and for AI agents. Nobody pays more for the easy way.

  • Honest matches

    Every result says if it's an exact match, a likely match or an alternative — and exactly what's different.

  • Safe for agents

    Agents need a key, ship only to your approved addresses and stay within the amount you approve. Retries never order twice.

Reference

Every endpoint

JSON in, JSON out. Ordering needs an API key; searching and pricing don't.

  • POST/api/searchFind parts from a plain-English description
  • GET/api/productsThe whole catalog
  • GET/api/products/:skuOne product: price breaks and availability
  • POST/api/quotePrice any quantity of any SKU — with a coupon, your credit and shipping
  • POST/api/ordersPlace an order (API key + idempotency key; coupon and use_credit optional)
  • GET/api/orders?id=…Check one of your account's orders, with its coupon and credit status
  • GET/api/offersPublic deals that are on right now, with their terms
  • POST/api/coupons/checkCheck a code, with or without parts
  • GET/api/rewardsYour account's credit, history and referral link (API key)
  • POST/api/mcpMCP server for AI agents (JSON-RPC)

Try it with the demo API key fn_test_workshop — orders placed with it don’t ship.
